U. S. Coast Guard Reserve
P/T Environmental Protection Training and Opportunities
Make a full-time difference in your community and for the environment one weekend a month and two weeks each year. The U.S. Coast Guard Reserve has immediate openings for individuals dedicated to protecting the environment and safety of our nation’s waterways.
No experience necessary. You will attend a seven-week course that will teach you the skills necessary to become a Marine Environmental Specialist. Your primary duties will include:
• Pollution Incident Investigations
• Monitoring Pollution Cleanups
• Conducting Foreign Vessel Boardings to Enforce Pollution and Navigation Safety Laws
• Harbor Patrols
• Facility Inspections
• Supervision of Explosives Loading

All candidates applying for enlistment into the U.S. Coast Guard must meet basic age, physical, mental, civil, and citizenship eligibility criteria. Qualification for enlistment also requires passing an Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), and physical exam. Contact your local recruiter for qualifications. Reservists may be activated at times of emergency or disaster.
